Discover two of Turkey’s most iconic destinations on a two-day journey from Kalkan. Explore the ancient city of Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary, before continuing to Pamukkale’s remarkable white terraces and the historic site of Hierapolis. With an overnight stay in Şirince or Selçuk, this experience combines history, scenery and flexibility in a well-paced itinerary.
This tour can also be arranged in reverse, starting with Pamukkale, with the option of an overnight stay in a thermal spa hotel before continuing to Ephesus.
Day 1 – Ephesus & House of the Virgin Mary
Your journey begins with a morning departure from Kalkan, travelling west towards Ephesus, one of the best-preserved classical cities in the Mediterranean. Explore its grand streets, monuments and historic landmarks before continuing to the House of the Virgin Mary, a place of pilgrimage set in peaceful surroundings. Following the visits, continue to your accommodation for an overnight stay in either Şirince or Selçuk.
Day 2 – Pamukkale & Hierapolis
After breakfast, depart and travel inland towards Pamukkale, often referred to as the “Cotton Castle”. Here, you will have time to walk across the white travertine terraces and experience the thermal waters. The visit also includes the ancient city of Hierapolis, with its impressive ruins and historic setting. An optional visit to Laodicea can also be included, depending on time and preference. Following the visit, begin the return journey to Kalkan, arriving in the evening.
